A mastectomy is more than a physical procedure—it reshapes how you inhabit your body. For many women, recovery involves not just healing scars but navigating complex emotions about changed anatomy, movement restrictions, and sometimes discomfort with being touched. As a male massage therapist, I'm deeply aware that some women may feel hesitant about receiving post-mastectomy care from a man. Please know: your comfort and sense of safety guide every aspect of my sessions.
A Space Built on Trust and Sensitivity
I recognise that after intimate surgery, the idea of massage—particularly with a male practitioner—might feel daunting. Here’s how I ensure a respectful, client-led experience:
No pressure, no assumptions: You’re in control. We’ll discuss boundaries before any touch begins, and you can pause or adjust at any time.
Professional draping: Modesty is maintained at all times—only the area being worked on is uncovered.
Your choice of focus: my massage avoids the chest area entirely, focusing instead on shoulders, back, or feet.
Open communication: If you’d prefer a chaperone present, that’s absolutely fine. Your peace of mind comes first.
Why Consider Massage During Recovery?
When you’re ready, gentle massage can:
Ease stiffness in shoulders and neck (common after surgery)
Reduce scar tissue adhesions that may limit movement (only with direct massage)
Help reconnect with your body in a positive, gradual way
Provide relief from the emotional weight of surgery
Learn to feel like yourself again, on your own terms."
Taking the First Step
I offer no-obligation consultations to discuss your needs and answer questions—without any pressure to book. Many women find it helpful to:
Meet the space first
Talk through concerns
Decide if they’d prefer slow, incremental sessions
Your healing journey is yours to direct. If you’re curious but unsure, we’ll move at your pace.
